Sustainably Chic

25 Ethical Brands that Give Back with Each Purchase

Conscious ListsNatalie Kay

Whether it be a cause, a particular non-profit or a community, each of these brands dedicate partial profits to something more than the brand itself. With each purchase you make, a percentage goes into a mission they care for deeply. Not only are you supporting a sustainable product, you are sustaining a mission beyond the fashion industry.

The Tote Project

20% of profits are donated to Two Wings

If there is one brand that radiates hope & compassion in the most practical way {because many of us could tote-ally use a tote!}, it's this one. Based on friendship & a shared dream, Fay Grant and Michelle Chavez started the The Tote Project to support the recovery for victims of modern day slavery. With hope, they strive to empower survivors of human trafficking by providing them opportunities and helping show their worth & potential.

10% to Mercy for Animals

This is probably one of my favorite vegan handbag lines! Their use of color and design is unlike anything I’ve seen. I’m really digging the belt bag trend right now, and have been wearing theirs as both a crossbody and belt. So versatile and incredibly soft! These handbags are ethically made in Los Angeles with mindful materials (much which are recycled).

mini + meep

The sweetest little onesies you will find, mini + meep makes super soft organic children’s clothing ethically in the USA - even the cotton is grown in the states. Every piece is printed with non-toxic, water-based inks with ADORABLE illustrations. Plus, 10% of all proceeds are donated to provide free meals and emergency food service to children in need.

1 Toothbrush = 1 Toothbrush for a Child in Need

The easiest sustainable switch anyone can make - plastic to bamboo when brushing. Not only are Mable's bamboo toothbrushes biodegradable & chic, they give back to our communities, too. For every toothbrush purchased, one is given to a U.S. child. What's also great about Mable is their subscription program that allows you to sign up to be sent a new toothbrush every few months.

1% For the Planet

A boutique & online shop, EcoVibe is a lovely space full of sustainable & trendy clothing {& now home goods!!}. Their brick-and-mortar is based in my favorite US city, Portland, Oregon, and - good news for the rest of us - their online store ships worldwide. They carry ten brands within the shops, one of them being their own private line made right here in the USA and ethically imported abroad.

azura bay

donates to WWF, Nature Conservancy and Because I am A Girl

One of the most frequent questions I receive is 'where do I find ethically produced swimwear and underwear?' While there are several great brands creating swimsuits or panties, now, you can find them all under one roof! Azura Bay has curated a lovely collection of bras, undies, lingerie, lounge, and swim.

Fazl Socks

A social business dedicated to working alongside women & children in need, Fazl Socks donates 50% of their profits to orphanages AND creates fair jobs. PALA's 'buy-give' business model gives us the opportunity to use our purchasing power to help someone in need, and give them the tools to foster a more sustainable life.

One Happy Leaf

1 Piece = 1 Tree Planted

ONE HAPPY LEAF is more than a jewelry line, it's a collection that fights to protect our Earth & the beings that live on it. Using quality eco-friendly bamboo, each piece is lovingly designed & created by Anna Anagno - an environmental scientist by education {so, naturally, she knows her stuff!}. Plus, for each piece sold, a tree is planted.

siku jewelry

3% to the planet

When an aesthetic and message align perfectly, it can make for something really beautiful and impactful. Regardless of how the entire world feels about climate change, there has been enough evidence in front of us to show how sick our planet has become in the last few decades. Awareness is key in building more action to help clean our mess up.
