True Ethic

In celebration of International Women's Day, I've been dedicating this week's posts to brands and shops who are going above and beyond to empower women all over the world. TRUE ETHIC works to bring the best in artisan-made & sustainably-minded goods that have a strong focus on supporting women. This beautiful online store is changing the way we shop and paving the path for brighter, more sustainable futures. Each purchase you make helps empower women in one of four ways: (1) through rescue or restoration from sex trafficking; (2) providing education ;(3) giving the basic need of clean water; (4) poverty alleviation through well paid and consistent employment.

Besides the many wonderful global Fair Trade brands, TRUE ETHIC has recently launched their own private label - and it is SO sweet & made with a lot of love by the owner herself, Laura. Laura has a passion for the arts, color and lending a helping hand - merge all of these together & you got yourself one wonderful product range ;) What I love about her handmade cement collection is the raw beauty. I don't typically think of cement as an aesthetically pleasing medium to use, but she has certainly changed my mind! The use of color, shape and smell {yes - some come with scents!}, is unique yet simplistic enough to add into any eco oasis. Plus, 10% of sales from the private label are donated directly to Freedom Firm - a non-profit based in India helping rescue, restore and seek justice for victims of Sex Trafficking.

Now a little bit about each of these lovely pieces...

The Cement Hexagon Coaster can be used for more than a little seat for a mason jar - try it as a spoon rest or plant base, too! Don't worry about messing your furniture; each coaster comes with 4 small rubber grips to keep the surface safe and scratch free. The Concrete Mini Planter is something I've always wanted but didn't know it. I used to have a huge collection of air plants, and after this move I have seemed to misplace them. Trying to find air plants in Jax has been tough, but we have a plan to go to a nursery next week. Fingers crossed I find some there! For now, I've been resting a few flowers in the holder which looks just as sweet.

The Freesia Scented Soy Candle smells amazing, and is scented with oils from the freesia flower {hence the name}. One of my favorite candles I have ever owned, I am going to have to replace as soon as it empties. It will be a great new home for my future air plants.

The Infused Lavender Diamond Concrete Necklace is a subtle statement, and I'm sure your jewelry box doesn't have anything too similar. This is the first necklace I've ever owned made from cement AND infused with my favorite essential oil ever. Lavender is great for calming you through your hectic days. Each necklace comes with a small bottle of the essential oil so you can add a few drops every 30 days.

{if you are a lover of color, you will be happy to find each piece comes in several options!}
