Treat Yo Self with Sustainable Goods

Conscious ListsNatalie Kay

We all need one of those days...

& it can be online, right?

I wanted to put a list together of some of my favorite eco, ethical & sustainable products I find great for treating yourself {ya, I say everything is my favorite these days because I am overwhelmed by how amazing sustainable fashion is right now, #sorrynotsorry}.

Neck Pillow, by Whispering Willow

Needing to relax at the end of the day? I've found your new friend.. The Organic Lavender & Flax Seed Neck Pillow is here to help you unwind & can be used hot OR cold. The cotton flannel covering is very soft, and I love to fall asleep with this wrapped around my shoulders - actually, that doesn't sound too bad right now so I'm going to go heat it up.... {I find this to be the perfect gift for moms this holiday season!! I think they all would appreciate one of these to help them relax after a long day!}. Whispering Willow is a husband and wife team who believe in sustainable, natural & beautiful bath and body products. Julia & Wayne handcraft all their products with love, attention and pride.

Willoughby Crossbody, by Canopy Verde

This is for my vegan friends {& really anyone who appreciates a great crossbody!}. The perfect everyday bag comes in 5 colors - Gold, Coral, Graphite, Matte Gray & Royal Blue - and fits all the essentials - wallet, phone, sunglasses & a few of your favorite lip sticks :P The gold is just right for this time of year & can easily be paired with all your holiday outfits. Canopy Verde is about practical, timeless and well designed products. Linda, the creator, saw first hand the immense amount of waste produced by the fashion industry & went out to start a brand dedicated to the slow fashion movement.  Her pieces are made to last & carry through season after season!

Illuminating Skin Careby Orenda

I am SO excited Orenda has launched two new products along side their amazing Face Serum. I've spoken about their skin care line several times over the last few months, and I truly back their product up 100%!! Their completely natural & non-toxic skin care products are filled with high performing antioxidants and vitamins. Orenda's newest products feature a Face Wash with Vitamin C & an Eye Concentrate. I added both into my daily beauty routine, and my skin feels amazing. Something I wanted to make mention of - I was running low on my Face Serum a few weeks ago so I was trying to conserve what little I had left. I would go a few days without using it, and noticed a difference in my skin. Of course, it was still fine, but I felt it had lost something - & that is when it really clicked with how much my skin was appreciating Orenda's formula. Want to try it for yourself? They have a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.

Yuraq Bandana & Pom Pom Beanieby Once Upon an Artisan

So I know I'm wearing the bandana as a shawl in the second photo, but I wanted to show you how practical & versatile it really is!! My arms are always cold, and if I don't have sleeves I use my Yuraq Bandana. It is seriously one of the softest knits ever & I don't leave the house without it. Therefore; it's going to be in a lot of Fair OOTDs the next few months :) Both the bandana & beanie are made from Alpaca which is responsibly sourced, and supports sustainable livelihoods & crafts in the highlands of Peru. They work with a community project in Puno - located in the Peruvian highlands over 4,000 meters above sea level. This is where Alpaca shepherds have started to breed natural colored “Suri” alpacas, & they certainly make some gorgeous fibers!

Face Powder, Kabuki Brush & Body Butter, by Olga's Organics

Olga, the founder of Olga's Organics, is taking our biggest organ {our skin} into serious consideration when creating her products. Olga's Organics is USDA Certified Organic, Non-GMO, Paraben Free, Petrolatum Free, BHA Free, Sodium Laureth Sulfate Free & Vegan! I have been using the Face Powder for the last couple of months, and absolutely love it. I like my makeup natural without the 'caked-on' feeling. This Face Powder has the right amount of coverage, and doesn't upset my skin in the slightest. The Kabuki Brush has a bamboo handle, and gives you the best application. At first, I was using another very similar brush, and noticed a huge difference when I made the switch to this one. Also, I just received the Body Butter this weekend & it smells amazing!! Leaves your skin so soft & I'm told it is great for back rubs.. so hint to my boyfriend...

Merino Mantle, by Wild Mantle

I've been wanting a Wild Mantle for almost two years, now!!! I am thrilled to have one for this winter {especially with out trip to Europe}. Avi, the creator, and I have been in touch with each other since the very beginnings of Sustainably Chic. I truly admire her work  & dedication to sustainability, and am very excited to share her wonderful business with you. They weren't kidding when they said "it's like a hug" - this Merino Mantle is like curling up in a fleece baby blanket. This mantle is made by a community of snowboarders, artisans, moms and dads at a B-Corporation Knitting Mill in Longmont, Colorado. The shell is 100% fine merino wool which is lined with {you guessed it} minky fleece. I don't think you will have any trouble keeping warm this winter!

a few more products I wanted to share with you..

Hope everyone who lives in the South is enjoying the cooler weather this week! Excited to put all these winter finds to good use :D
