1) Day/WON

sizes up to 32

DAY/WON is the first fully size-inclusive activewear brand in the United States.

All of their designs are available in sizes 0 through 32 with no exceptions.

They use the best performance, sweat-wicking, compression, antimicrobial fabrics and are marathon-tested.

They know that fitness isn’t a size, it’s a lifestyle, and they are here for you every step of the way!

2) DL1961

sizes up to 26w

Originally known for their jeans, DL1961 is a family-owned company that’s been in the denim business for decades. They work to decrease their environmental impact across their supply chain, from the amount of water used; to eco-friendly materials like TENCEL, recycled cotton, and low-impact dyes; to energy-efficient factories. The brand has also expanded beyond jeans to offer tops, jumpsuits, and more.

3) Eileen Fisher

sizes up to 3X and 24W

Eileen Fisher has been a trailblazer for both the sustainable and traditional fashion world.

Committed to transparency, you can find out all about the brand’s materials (like regenerative wool and TENCEL), their factories and fair labor initiatives, and their blusign certified dyes right on their website. If you’re looking for timeless pieces that come in a variety of sizes, Eileen Fisher is your go to!

4) Girlfriend Collective

sizes up to 6XL

This brand is the best when it comes to size inclusivity. Girlfriend goes up to a size 6XL, and has so many different colors and styles to choose from. They use a lot of different fabrics, but all are made from post-consumer waste.

Their facility in Taiwan specializes in eco-friendly and high-quality textile, and their ethical cut-and-sew SA8000 certified factory is in Hanoi, Vietnam.

5) Neems

made-to-fit custom denim

This brand is so cool because you send in your own measurements to make the perfect pair of jeans.

Jean shopping can be one of the most difficult things because there is always something in the fit that is somewhat off. This is the solution!

And they use one of the softest denims around made from our favorite Tencel! I have a pair and they are so comfy.

6) Karen Kane

sizes up to 3X and 22W

This brand has a lot of beautiful blouses and dresses 0 perfect for work or wearing out with your friends.

“There’s no secret to what sets us apart. In 1979, Lonnie and Karen Kane started their company with one goal: to create the highest quality clothing possible. That has never changed. Most of our clothing is cut and sewn by hand in Los Angeles with the finest fabrics from the United States and around the world.” - karenkane.com

7) Madewell

sizes up to 3X, 24 and 37 in denim

Something we love about Madewell is that everyone knows the brand, and it’s accessible to many of us. You are able to go to the store & try things on, & they have a whole section dedicate to their sustainable line called The Do Well Shop. Plus, their denim has a curvy line to help fit more body types. Not all of their clothing is made equally, so please look for ‘Fair Trade’ or ‘Do Well’ in the tags. This is one of the only places at the mall I feel comfortable purchasing from!

8) Mata Traders

sizes up to 2x

I’ve always loved this brand. They make such beautiful dresses with lots of fun, lovely prints.

“A love affair with India has evolved into Mata Traders – a design driven, fair trade fashion brand helping to end global poverty and inspire consumers to change the fashion industry. Made by artisans in India and Nepal, our colorfully original designs provide a stable source of income for families in economically disadvantaged communities.” - matatraders.com

9) prana

sizes up to 3x & 22w

If you are looking for pants, leggings, t-shirts and sweatshirts, I recommend checking out prAna’s extended sizing collection! prAna’s Fair Trade Certified™ program has given back $400,000+ to 33,000+ workers around the world! They believe quality, durability, and versatility play a large role in their sustainable clothing. They also believe in plastic-free packaging so you don’t have to worry about throwing out that waste.

10) REI

sizes up to 3x & 24w

Looking for outdoor gear? REI has a whole section of their site dedicated to plus-size clothing. They have their own line, as well as several other well-known sustainable outdoor brands (like prAna & Patagonia). REI is pretty good with vetting their brands, and making sure they hold higher ethical standards than most. They also have a pre-loved outlet where you can shop their clothing and equipment secondhand.

11) Symbology

sizes up to 3x

If you are looking for dresses, this is the perfect spot!

“Our U.S.-based team custom designs fabrics and garment styles to create a truly unique piece--one that celebrates cultural art forms that tell a story of empowerment for both its maker and wearer. We choose silhouettes that flatter all body shapes and offer inclusive sizing, bringing confidence (and often lots of compliments) to our customers.” - symbologyclothing.com

12) Tradlands

sizes up to 3XL

Tradlands sustainable apparel is meant to be worn and lived in for years. They use high-quality and eco-friendly fabrics like TENCEL, linen, and cotton. Plus, they work with factories around the world that prioritize safe and fair conditions for their workers. Their prices are a bit higher comparatively, but their Cost Per Wear Promise ensures you that you’re going to get just as much bang for your buck that you would if you bought several cheaper shirts.

13) Universal Standard

sizes up to 4XL / 40

It’s hard to find a brand who does inclusivity better than this one! Not only on size, but inclusitivity on all the many differences in humanity. “Erasing the line between "us" and "them" by levelling the fashion field and creating unprecedented access for all of US, as we are, was our goal from the start. We wanted to change everything. We wanted to break barriers. We wanted to unite the divided. Today we’re the world’s most inclusive fashion brand.” - universalstandard.com

14) Warp + Weft

sizes up to 24

If you are looking for affordable denim, this is exactly the brand you need to check out.

They have tons of different styles, and having a pair for myself, I can say they are great!

Their family-run eco-friendly mill is one of the world’s largest textile manufacturers, which means they can create high quality denim that’s good for you, the planet and your wallet!

Also, make sure to check out both ThredUp & Swap Society for secondhand plus-size clothing!
