My favorite part of my job is coming across new sustainable clothing brands I find will truly resonate with you - brands I think you will be excited to learn about, and hopefully, one day wear! As I'm sure it is to you, aesthetics is extremely important to me. My style is quite feminine, and I love brands who can put as much 'sweetness' into a garment as 'eco-mindedness'. AKIRA MING's romantic & luxurious vibe does exactly this! The way their fabrics flow, the embroidery & the designs make this Indian brand one of my new favorites.

AKIRA MING is a fashion label for women who are creative and compassionate for people & the planet. All their designs tell a story from start to finish, from the rich heritage of handcrafted yarn in India to the textures and weaves of traditional master craftsmen in remote villages. AKIRA MING only uses 100% natural and hand-woven fabric making these pieces truly unique and wonderful. Their silk, called Ahimsa, is incredibly interesting in that it is sustainably produced so silk worms are not harmed during the process. They also plant 5 trees for every garment sold!

The Abby Top {I'm wearing in this post} has a beautiful embroidered yoke {all done by hand}, and the tab sleeve detailing with a raw neckline give the top so much character. It is made from a handspun and handwoven textile called Malkha, which is made in Andhra - an initiative that supports local farmers and weavers. Even the yarns are vegetable-dyed to keep the carbon footprint low. It truly is a piece of art!!
