Bringing the Luxurious Hotel Slumber to the Comfort of Your Own Home

Living Fresh

Have you ever stayed in a hotel {& I'm not talking about sleeping next to Interstate 95} where you didn't want to get out of bed? You could seriously lay there all day, wrapped up like a burrito, hoping to have a late check out. Some of my best vacations were so great because the hotel made me feel cozy. Traveling can make you feel quite vulnerable, so it's nice when hotels are mindful of your comfort during an extended visit somewhere new. If you have been fortunate enough to stay at a few hotels like this, you probably slept on these sheets before! Living Fresh has over 40 years of experience in the hospitality textile industry, and in 2009 they partnered up with Lenzing AG and their Tencel+Plus™ Lyocell to create a range of bedding.

Why I Love Living Fresh

1. The fabric. Living Fresh has blended Tencel+Plus™ Lyocell eucalyptus and cotton for their botanical bedding. This is the perfect recipe for comfort, softness and sustainability. The combination of these two require less pressing during maintenance and only 1 non-toxic chemical to process {unlike bamboo which requires 16 different toxic chemicals to produce into a fiber - it's great for toothbrushes and other home goods, but not so much for textiles!}. Some cool facts about the eucalyptus tree: it requires no irrigation, farming, or pesticides and grows to maturity at about 10 years. Then only 10% is cut down while be replanted.

2. The comfort. Eucalyptus fibers are a great sleeping buddy. They actually absorb moisture & release it from the body keeping you cool & dry. Because this moisture reduction quality reduces bacteria, you get a cleaner sleep with less allergens and dust mites. Plus, with every wash the sheets just become softer and softer!

3. The price. Many years ago, I went into Bed, Bath & Beyond to buy some new bedding. I didn't want Target sheets because they seemed to fail me time and time again, so I knew I was going to spend a little more money. I ended up with some 'luxury' type sheets for about $150-75, and they weren't great. I can't remember the brand, or what they were made from, but after getting used to these sheets, I'm kicking myself for spending the money on a subpar product!  The Living Fresh Sea Glass sheet set you see in the photos here are $185 {queen size}, and worth every penny! With their choice of eco-minded textiles, environmental certifications & health benefits, you are most definitely getting a great deal for an amazing product.

4. The colors & range. I had a bit of trouble picking between their colors. The Sea Glass and Deepsea are so dreamy & luxurious looking, but sometimes I just love a good set of white sheets. I think I'm pretty satisfied with the choice I made though ;) I like a good change! Besides their bed sheets, they also carry pillows, duvets, towels, blankets, pjs.. basically, anything you need to make your down time more cozy!
