Trades of Hope

Compassionate Entrepreneur: Anna Berardi

A business dedicated to empowering artisanal women out of poverty, Trades of Hope has a team full of amazing entrepreneurial ladies based right here in the US. Anna Berardi is one of these wonderful ladies, and her passion for this business radiates throughout our correspondence. Anna looks absolutely stunning in the Spring Catalogue, and she was able to join the Trades of Hope team on their 'Vision Trip' in Guatemala to see first hand the impact they have on the lives of the artisans they work with. Trades of Hope works with 16 different countries bringing us beautiful accessories made ethically and responsibly. For every person who falls into poverty, four more follow suit. Trades of Hope understands the importance of bringing these impoverished communities work rather than hand outs.

During Anna's 6-day Vision Trip in Guatemala, they met with several different artisans and communities, one being a home for abandoned and abused women called Casa Hogar. Many young girls expressed their future goals of becoming doctors, lawyers and teachers, and with Trades of Hope they are so much closer to reaching those dreams!

Anna's a busy lady, too - a wife and mom to two young daughters, her plate is pretty full. Trades of Hope enables her to help change the world and take care of a full house. Such a great opportunity for the busy bees out there wanting to make a difference - see how you can become a Compassionate Entrepreneur here.

This spring, Anna is loving the Sunburst Earring Set, which are changing lives in India by supporting education. Now that I'm in new apartment mode, I have my eye on some of their home decor, like the Flower Bowl and the Owl Coaster Set {both made in India, as well}.

It's been so lovely meeting the many faces behind Trades of Hope this past year. Their love for the business is contagious - who knows, maybe this will be something you add to your schedule in the near future :)
