Color Your Hair at Home with Organic-Based Products

Naturigin

I don't know about you, but for some reason I am always itching to dye my hair a different color around the holidays. A lot of my friends and family are the same way, so what better time to put together a post about organic hair dye alternatives? I know some of you hair stylists may be cringing while reading about boxed color, but those couple hundred dollar sessions are a bit out of my price range this time of year. I'm sure for most of us, time is another big issue. I've had a few not so great past experiences with DIY hair dying, but I'm always up for a little hair 'refresh' and a new opportunity to try a green beauty product. It has been almost two years since I have dyed my hair.. I used to do it a lot - rather that than an extra tattoo {mom would like to hear this} :P I like change and new looks, but it's been a little too long since my last change and I'm ready for a new one. Therefore, I was excited to stumble across NATURIGIN - one of the most natural ways of coloring your own hair on the market.

NATURIGIN is full of certified organic ingredients such as mandarin, sunflower, lemon, soy, grapefruit, peach, apricot, shea butter, grape, jojoba, wheat, and aloe. Who knew you could find all of that in a hair dye!? For most people, you may be thinking "well, does it work?!" & I'm here to tell you, "YES, yes it does"! I'm very impressed with the results, and being that it is free of parabens, sls, ammonia and resorcinol makes it even better. PLUS, they never test their products on animals, and are a part of the Be Cruelty Free Campaign by Humane Society International.

before - after

They have a range of 19 shades from Extra Ash Blonde to Black. I tried out their Light Chocolate Brown, and I LOVE the color. My hair feels like it has life again {shiny, bright & new}, and I like it being one solid color {I had too many different things going on before as you can see in the above before photo}. My favorite part about using this dye - it didn't have that crazy odor so many other box dyes produce. I didn't need to turn a fan on or leave the room for a few minutes to escape the harsh smells, and my scalp never felt irritated. Application was easy, and it took only 40 minutes from start to finish {30 minute leave in}.

If you are someone who prefers to dye their hair on their own, or wants to save some money {I'm with you on that}, I highly recommend trying NATURIGIN out for yourself. Shop all 19 colors online at the Vitamin Shoppe. Send me your photos if you do - I'd love to see!!
