A Guide to Ethical Lingerie | Who Said Sustainability Isn't Sexy?

sustainably chic all the way down to the panties...

This list is long overdue! I probably receive a question a week about where to find ethically-made undies. While it isn't as easy to find as a new sustainable tee, there are a few brands I absolutely love that are creating some gorgeous and comfy panties & bras!

1. AmaElla

Romantic, lovely & chic, this lingerie line is one of my favorites! They use GOTS Certified Organic Cotton with nature inspired prints and sweet lace trimmings. Their line consists of a négligé, pjs, bras {one with a wire which I know is often asked for!} & briefs. They produce in ethical factories - one in the U.K. & one in Portugal. The UK partner is a non-profit social enterprise training young women & developing their skills within the fashion industry. The Portuguese manufacturer holds the GOTS certification and only employs women in the area in order to help conserve the textile heritage of the community.

*special savings*  Use code sustainablychic if you spend £55+ to get Free Shipping AND a Free Lingerie Bag. They are also having an August special: Free Delivery on briefs {they are shipping them in a plantable envelope! How cool is that?!}.

2. Azura Bay

If you are looking to go through a wide range of undie options, this is the place! Azura Bay is home to several of the sexiest ethical lingerie brands. From sports bras to thongs, there is no doubt you will fall in love with something {or a lot of things.. that's what happens to me}!

3. Anekdot

Handcrafted in Berlin, Anekdot sources leftovers, end of lines, off-cuts, deadstock and vintage trimmings in order to create their beautiful underwear. This means less waste and limited editions. Inspiration comes from the material rather than a design, and is individually handcrafted with love and pride.

4. Naturae

Lola & August’s panty mini-line features three styles all responsibly-made around Toronto, Canada with 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton. Their organic cotton is purchased from a family business in Texas who produces locally or uses Fair Trade practices with producers in India.

5. Svala

Another lingerie brand using recycled & reclaimed lace leftover by factory surplus! Svala really knows how to make someone else's trash look beautiful {& sexy!}. Plus, their entire line is ethically produced in downtown LA.

6. Thought Clothing

If you are looking for a good pair of breathable, comfy panties, Thought Clothing is here for you! While you're picking out a pair, don't forget to add some socks to your cart... I wear their socks all the time :D
